All good things must come to an end.

Today is a sad day.

I am a man of many little routines and idiosyncrasies  one of them is getting a regular soy cappuccino from the basement of a hotel down the road. I start work at 8am. An hour later I do the 100 metre walk for my caffeine hit. For the past 12 months, my barista (Franky) has provided this service well.

Franky is more than a barista to me. Sure, he makes a brilliant cup of coffee but he is also a good guy to speak to. He opens up to me a little bit, and I return the favour.

Franky has been the highlight of many mornings, however it is now time for him to move on. He has a second job and has been recently promoted, meaning he will need to work shift work and have to leave this job. I've had coffee from his replacement and have not been impressed.

This morning's coffee was on the house, but is one I would have rather paid for if it meant more Franky coffees.
