I work for a large company in Maquarie Park, near Maquarie University. We have an official work Christmas party that is usually hosted in the city on a weeknight, goes for 3-4 hours and and makes for groggy people stumbling into work the next day. Most years I do not attend as I do not know most of the people that work in my company, but part of the rule of having a unified Christmas party is that work teams are not permitted to host their own Christmas parties.
So our team decided to have a December lunchtime meeting, and coincidentally decided to have it offsite at a restaurant. I managed to rig the restaurant choice to my favourite restaurant in the area, the Mediterranean at Marsfield. I wish I'd taken photos of my meal (Salmon, crab meat and veggies in a lemon sauce), but it looked very impressive, tasted fantastic and a generous serving. Squeezed in a strawberry and ice cream dessert and am now very full and I think everyone was happy with the venue..
I'm a huge fan of this type of intimate lunch and wish I could do it more often. oh well, 'Tis the season :)
