So here I sit at home on a Friday night, bored as can be. The Mayan calendar ends in a little less than half an hour but on-call has grounded me once again.
I'm a huge fan of politics. This time of year is traditionally quiet for domestic politics, so it is not hard to look for other targets and there is no other target quite like the US and their current congressional debacles.
The recent shootings in Newtown has shown how messed up their gun laws up. We had a mass shooting in Port Arthur in the 90's, Our PM quickly tightened gun laws and staged a buyback. There are certain no-brainers when it comes to fixing US gun laws - There is no place for assault weapons to be owned by civilians. There's no reason for being able to buy a gun without a background check regardless of where guns are purchased and there is no place for high capacity clips to be sold, yet congress manage to tie their panties in a knot and argue for the sake of arguing over the bleeding obvious.
To top it all off, It is scary to see how Fox News try to twist the discussion into a mental health debate. America calls itself the land of the free, yet most seem to be feeding from someone elses pockets.
